Focus on the Process

You know that moment when you realize that everything you’ve been preparing for is finally going to pay off. The extra  workouts you added, the intermittent fasting you started, the sugar intake you reduced. You made those sacrifices and today is the day you get on the scale, try the new outfit, go to the beach, but wait… what if the outcome looks different than intended. What if I missed my desired goals by country mile? Then what do I do?

Well let me tell you, it’s not quitting time. For me this year I purposed to do more to improve my health. Living a healthy lifestyle is not just about what you eat, it’s about how you live, the way you think about yourself. It’s a mindset to accomplish your goals despite obstacles, emotions, or even regret when you feel you’ve disappointed yourself. My goal this year is to run a 15K, but ask me if I’ve run a 5K yet this year? Nope, ask if I even kept up my commitment to workout 3 times a week? Not yet but as the summer approaches and I look at my desired goals to improve how I take care of my body, I’ve determined that quitting is not an option.

Now I will say this decision has to be made ahead of time, before the opposition comes. It’s just like those who decide to fast, the moment you make that decision, be prepared,  because temptation will literally come knocking at your door. It’s a determination that you have to commit to regardless of how you feel. Whatever your goal is remember these 3 things and you’ll be ready to tackle your goals and set new ones with ease.

First know that you can do this. It’s just that simple. You got this!

Then the next move is like Nike motto, ‘Just Do It’, if you begin vacilating between action and procrastination  then procrastination will win every time. You have to just do it! No regrets because action brings results. Procrastination bring disappointment. Remember you got this!

Lastly stick to the process, don’t live on the scale monitoring your weight,  or spend your day looking at your numbers for blood pressure,  or whatever the desired outcome may be. Set the goal. Stick to the process and the results will come. Keep the vision before you of what you want, but as you get to that goal don’t be critical of yourself looking progress everyday.  Remember you got this!

Now, when I run my 15K this year, you will be the first to know. I’ll be starting this journey and bringing you with me. My goal and hope is that as I focus on improving my health and the health of my family We can do this together.
