Do you know what a toddlers favorite word is besides “Momma”? Usually their vocabulary is very limited but they have an excellent way of articulating exactly what they want with very few words. One word is synonymous with all toddlers when they want to express something they have a strong distaste for and its “NO!”
A wise woman once said that “Adults are just little kids in big suits” and I couldn’t agree more, especially when it comes to change. When I first began this journey of removing sugar from the foods that I consume there was a big toddler on the inside and she was demanding her way. She said yes to donuts and no to juicing. She rejected salads and instead went for a slice of cheesecake. This decision to quit sugar was going to take a little bit more than willpower and this toddler was going to have to grow up if true change was going to occur.
I believe that tough decisions that have positive long lasting impact are not easy, this is one of the reasons that I share my background with you on this road to developing desserts and aiming to live a healthy lifestyle along the way. Is it easy? NO (I’m saying this in my toddler voice). However if it were easy then more people would be doing it, but it’s always harder to climb up a hill than to fall down and removing sugar for me is an uphill journey that I hope I’m not alone on.
I invite you to continue this journey with me and say yes to desserts that are good for you and taste good. Say yes to change for the positive in whatever area that is for you. Change might involve waking up earlier to go for a 20 minute walk or taking an online class to educate yourself in order to pursue your passion. Whatever the change may be, face it head on like the confidence of a 4 year old in a Batman costume that realizes, No is not an option.
Pursue your passion and continue on this journey with me as I pursue the sugar free healthy life!
